ADULTS, TEENS, AND YOUTH (AGES 10+): The act of drumming together in a circle has been with humanity for thousands of years. It is a wonderful means of connecting people in a fun, exciting and profound way. It's no surprise that drum circles have continued to be a cultural phenomena for building community and providing a gateway for people to be musically engaged without needing years of formal training. Anyone can do it.... all skill levels!
In this workshop, Dave Curry will show you how to get a decent sound from a variety of different drum types. He will also teach you several rhythms from different cultural sources that are popular in drum circle gatherings. You can bring your own drum if you have one, but David will bring enough drums to ensure that everyone has something to play.
